Two quick notes from The Vineyard at Hershey.
It announced plans for a dinner called Holiday Cork to Fork at the winery near Middletown, Pa., on Dec. 7. Working with the JDK Group, they will have four seatings that day for a five-course meal paired with Vineyard at Hershey wines. Here are the prices and signup information. Every attendee will receive a holiday Vineyard at Hershey glass in addition to the meal.
Partner Jason Reimer said the other day that the evening will include a violinist serenading diners. “It should be a real nice night,” he said. One of the pairings will include cocoa dusted duck confit and some of what remains of the winery’s merlot. “We’re down to 115 bottles, so we’ll pull a couple cases and save them for the dinner,” Reimer said.

The winery also is planning a Black Friday Toys for Tots initiatives that will reward a toy donation with 10 percent off their wine purchase and 15 percent off the purchase of a basket.

One bit of statewide news. Reimer said the Pennsylvania Winery Association agreed at their meeting to remake their booth at the Farm Show in January. The exhibit will allow a couple more wineries to be part of the event and will pair those tastings with regional cheese producers.11858688-large
